WHAT TO BRING TO THE FESTIVAL
Children are required to wear black bottoms (Joggers, shorts, leggings), black footwear (we recommend trainers) and black socks. Children will be handed their JTF t-shirt once onboard the coach.

Lunch is not provided this year so all children are required to bring food for the entire day.
There is a subway, WHSMITHS/Londis and Starbucks on site - however these are often very busy with queues of over 30 mins. We recommend bringing two packed lunches. One for lunch and one for evening dinner. We also suggest plenty of energy snacks and drink. If your child doesn't eat breakfast at home, make sure they have something for breakfast too.
WHAT THE WEEKEND ENTAILS
SATURDAY 18TH MAY 2024

The team will be picked up at 6.45am from Abbey Foregate park, Shrewsbury to travel by coach to Birmingham ICC. Please arrive no later than 6.40am. The company Boultons Coaches.

Following a mass 'kick off' and warm-up session the day-long programme will consist of:

ADJUDICATION
Groups perform 10 minutes of a Broadway Junior musical for adjudication by leading theatre professionals. Groups are rated in the areas of music, acting, dance and overall performance. The adjudicators offer constructive criticism to each group to encourage further learning in key areas.

LUNCH
This is not provided this year so all children are required to bring a packed lunch with enough snacks to get them through the day. We recommend bringing two packed lunches. One for lunch and one for dinner. If your child doesn't eat breakfast at home, we recommend providing breakfast too!

NEW WORKS SHOWCASE
After lunch everyone gathers in the theatre for a sneak peak at two new Broadway Junior shows soon to be released for licensing. One of these performances will be done by our Wigle team (formed from our Beauty and the Beast cast) in full costume on the main stage!
A West End star will perform and have a Q and A with the students.

WORKSHOPS FOR STUDENTS
West End professionals and master teachers from across the globe offer interactive workshops in all aspects of musical theatre performance. Groups will rotate around THREE separate workshops, each focusing on one of the core skills; acting, singing and dancing. Dance workshops are delivered directly by West End shows, teaching the actual choreography from those shows.
ALLSTARS
During adjudications, 2 students from each group will be selected as AllStars. AllStars will participate in exclusive workshops and will rehearse and perform a featured number at the Awards Ceremony on the main stage.

AWARDS CEREMONY
To celebrate the accomplishments of the day everyone gathers in the main theatre to watch the AllStars perform. Outstanding performances are selected from the morning's adjudications and groups perform their numbers on the stage. Awards are given for achievements in dance, music, acting and ensemble as well as outstanding individual performances.
Special guest stars will perform on the main stage as a special treat to those attending the event.

Coach will depart the ICC around 7.15pm and is expected back in Shrewsbury at around 8.45pm
OUR PERFORMANCES
OUR ADJUDICATED PERFORMANCE
This year we are entering the festival with a 15 minute performance from Madagascar Jr - although this may change should signups lead us to another show option.
The whole piece will be an ensemble section and the group will be involved throughout the complete 15 minute performance. There will be harmonies to learn and fun choreography of varying difficulty levels. There will be solo opportunities dependant on the section of the show selected that will be cast following the completion of the team - however the whole experience is designed to be a team effort!

This is a trip not to be missed!
